David holds a Master of Science, (MSc), in Child Forensic Studies: Psychology and Law, and a B.A Honours Degree in international social work studies, and a Diploma in Social Work to practice. He has over 25-years’ experience working in the area of Child Protection and Family Welfare, Private and Statutory Family Law Court proceedings, and in the field of child sexual abuse.
David’s main focus is child advocacy, and broader family consultancy. These include assessments to determine parental capacity, children who are at-risk, and custody & access matters, at District and Circuit Court level. He is a trained specialist interviewer for children and vulnerable adults, and he has comprehensive experience in assessing children who have alleged sexual abuse.
David has been working as a court appointed guardian ad litem since 2011.
David is an accredited family mediator with MII, (Mediation Institute of Ireland), and has Garda vetting clearance and is CORU registered.
David is an Associate Lecturer in Social Work Studies at the University of Chichester, West Sussex, U.K
